Joan Baez’s farewell tour is one of the major events of 2018/2019.
After selling out the Paris Olympia venue for fifteen shows, Joan Baez will honour Carcassonne with her presence on 15 July 2019.
Joan Baez symbolises an entire generation of politically involved artists. She is a protest song icon. Alongside artists like Bob Dylan, whose songs she has covered many times, Joan Baez uses folk songs to express her social criticism. For five decades as a singer, activist and goodwill ambassador, Joan Baez has sung with the same spirit. In 2007, she received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Arts. Day After Tomorrow is her 24th album, the first studio album since Dark Chords On A Big Guitar in 2003. Produced by Steve Earle – an essential musician of the US folk-rock-blues scene, celebrating the fiftieth anniversary of an exceptional career. In early 2018, Joan Baez delighted her fans with a new album entitled Whistle Down the Wind. This opus (the first one in ten years) features songs written by Tom Waits, Mary Chapin Carpenter or Josh Ritter.
